CAL2K Products

The CAL2k bomb calorimeter systems are the most advanced fully automatic "dry" static jacket isothermal bomb calorimeter systems available today. A quality product which produces accurate results.

The calorimeters can operate as either a stand alone unit or via a PC. The cooler reduces the temperature of a fired vessel by having its hot junction of the peltier elements cooled down by a continous trickle of mains water supply. The filling station fills the vessel with oxygen to 3000Kpa (3Mpa) at a controlled pace, so as not to disturb the sample inside the crucible. The vessel is the heart of the calorimeter systems. It has an isothermal design with a microprocessor in its base. The vessel also has a number of temperature sensors within its cylindrical walls, ensuring absolute accuracy.

CAL2K Calorimeter

The Cal2K system is the most advanced, fully automatic calorimeter system available today. The result of years of research with dedicated engineers employing the latest state-of-the-art technology and the highest quality materials. The Cal2K is easy to use and has special features, which places it in a league of its own. Accuracy is guaranteed with microprocessors that use self-correcting processes, exceeding the standard requirements of DIN, ASTM and ISO. Its ability to interface with a personal computer, ensures preferred results with displays, data printouts and connectivity across a network.

ECO Calorimeter

The new ECO system is to operate together with the existing Cal2K and form part of the Cal2K range. It is aimed at a different type of market and will not be in direct competition to the Cal2K. The ECO is an inexpensive calorimeter aimed at a lower volume market, which requires fewer quantities of CV samples per day. The ECO, unlike the Cal2K, will use no water; the vessel will cool naturally while standing on a workbench or table.

e2k Calorimeter

Digital Data Systems has upgraded the e2K bomb calorimeter system. The system now has full menu control. The system can operate fully without a PC and results can be printed directly to a RS232 printer. PC and software are optional, however the system is not fully operational without software. All menu functions can be done via the calorimeter. We call the new upgraded version - Version 2.

Bomb Vessel

The vessel is smaller than conventional vessels, which results in a smaller heat capacity. Special attention has been given to a thermally balanced vessel design which has been achieved using computer aided design (CAD) and computer simulation of heat transfer characteristics.

Certified Benzoic Acid Tablets

Benzoic acid is the most commonly used chemical standard to determine the heat of capacity of a bomb calorimeter.
